CSR is at the heart of the Highway Industries’ corporate philosophy, and we strive to touch our society with dedicated efforts in various spheres.
Education of underprivileged children and providing educational support to the adopted communities forms an integral part of Highway’s annual CSR plan. Adequate facilitation provided for enabling the children to stay in school and complete their education. Infrastructural support like school furniture & fixtures, textbooks, notebooks and sports kits to encourage and aid all these children.
Health is another key area of focus for Highway Industries and in this aspect, it conducts regular health camps in the adjoining rural areas. Besides blood-donation camps, regular check-ups and medicine distribution, awareness programmes are conducted amongst the communities about the importance of hygiene and adequate nutrition to maintain good health.
Empowering women is a primary area where Highway Industries have done yeoman’s work. Women from the nearby areas of its plants are trained in basic handicrafts to become self-sufficient. This is to enable them to earn steady incomes that would lead to better education for their children as well as financially stable households.
Highway conducts regular skill development programs for young job-seekers from economically disadvantaged sections of the society. This gives them the opportunity to develop a set of market relevant skills that would improve their chances of employability in today’s competitive scenario.
